I asked where you live, so I should tell you where I live. I am a teacher and a PhD in Education Administration. I have been active in educational settings from K to post-grad for over 40 years. You could say that I have lived in the intersections of Education Street and many other routes. Every location has been in the center of a fascinating community. There's been neighborhood strife, blooming expectation, dedication and determination, self-confidence and self-doubt. I've both watched from the stands and sweated it out on the field.
What position do you like to play?
Mary, I'm new to education (MLS last year and I'm 52!) so I feel like I'm still a spectator trying to ease my way onto the field. Don't feel like I have the hands-on skills yet (teacher-librarian) but I've been prepped really well. Now I just need the confidence to dive in and make a difference. My nest is now empty (I have a sophomore at APP) so I've got the time and energy to play with the "big boys and girls". I look forward to advice!
